Privacy policy

Plain English, no small print. What Wedge Matrix stores, where it lives, and what I never see.

The short version. Wedge Matrix doesn’t ask for your name, doesn’t need an account, shows no ads and doesn’t track you. Your shot data stays on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. I can’t see it.

Who I am

Wedge Matrix is made by Darran Cooke, trading as Back Nine Strong, in the United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, email founder@backninestrong.club.

What the app stores

The data you enter: your clubs, your carry and total distances, your builds, and the averages and Ability Bands the app works out from them.

That data is kept on your device. If iCloud is switched on for Wedge Matrix, it’s also synced to your private iCloud database using Apple’s CloudKit, so it’s backed up and available on your other devices. That private database belongs to your Apple Account. I have no access to it.

What the app doesn’t collect

No name, email address, location, contacts, photos or advertising identifier. No third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.

Purchases

Wedge Matrix Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment and I never see your card details. The app only receives confirmation from Apple that Pro has been unlocked on your account, so it can switch on Pro features and restore them if you reinstall.

Sharing your band

When you share an Ability Band card, the image is created on your iPhone and sent through the standard iOS share sheet to wherever you choose. Nothing passes through me.

Crash reports

If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may pass me anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don’t identify you and you can turn them off at any time in Settings, under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements.

This website

backninestrong.club uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address, as with any website request.

Emailing me

If you email me, I’ll use your email address and message only to reply and help with your question. I don’t add you to any mailing list.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes the data from your iPhone. To remove the copy in iCloud as well, go to Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, and manage the storage for Wedge Matrix. Because I don’t hold your data, there’s nothing for me to delete, but I’m happy to help if you get stuck.

Children

Wedge Matrix collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Email me and I’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts collecting anything new (for example, if Sign in with Apple is added), this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date below will change.
